6 people are on the agree side of this discussion, while 10 people are on the disagree side.
People are starting to choose their side.
It looks like most people are against to this statement.
Najam1 posted 17 arguments, Masonearl posted 1 argument to the agreers part.
Nemiroff posted 2 arguments, alba posted 1 argument, historybuff posted 2 arguments, Brynn posted 1 argument to the disagreers part.
Najam1, Masonearl and 4 visitors agree.
Nemiroff, alba, historybuff, Brynn, Lahari153, Niel and 4 visitors disagree.
The immediate flaw in your argument that i notice is the mentioning of Santa. The only religious folks who I have seen "accept" Santa are children. No one that I have seen ever forces a child to remain believing in Santa or a grown adult. If you can show proof of this statement I'd love to see where you get this reasoning from!
When people claim that the Almighty God would permit mankind to abuse and kill his son, it denigrates both mankind and godhood. From what we know, Jesus was innocent of everything except demanding that the Jews allow the rest of mankind the same option of greatness that they once held.
I hate religion in general.
It's like you want to say the Almighty God is a bad guy.
The nerve of you claiming he would have a son and allow puny petty Jews to beat, kill, call a liar, crucify while he watches and laughs about it.
Mary is reported to marry Muhammad in heaven, and thus she and Muslim women dress in the signature modest hijab.
Adam, the first man on Earth has no mother for you to lie and claim the Almighty God had sex with and refused to marry.
You lie and claim the Almighty God has had sex with a human woman without marrying her because you seek to mock the Almighty God before you have to go in the grave.
The Almighty God is not a human, nor did he have sex with a woman.
You just want to tell lies on Jesus and mock him along with your friends, and you accuse everyone born in America of participating.
And I want to apologize for my mentioning of attending Stanford. I'm usually humble about most things. But ahhh, Im just so exicteddddd mannn!!! Please forgive my unnecessary comments :))
oh and my previous statement was toward najam, historybuff, not you. Haha sorry if there was any confusion in that.
I said it was Jesus Christ's birthday. Not our god's. Our god doesn't have a birthday. That is not what we celebrate. We celebrate the birth of his son. Please thoroughly inform yourself of a religion before proposing a formal discussion of it. Though, in hopes that I am not simply misinterpreting and manipulating the other half of your recent statement, I do agree that human nature as whole is to be relatively kind to those we can relate to or see as equals in terms of intellectual capacity. The exact opposite of this being dehumanization? right? Honestly not too sure haha. But if so, it is in your strained attempts to dehumanize anyone who oppose you in any verbal confrontation that exemplify your inability to understand or at least try to understand people's viewpoints. This also resulting in highly inarticulate arguments. But, I digress, for I am sure you have heard this all before. I do realize the piece of information I am about to provide is irrelevant but, I am a student who plans to study Psychology(minor), Philosophy(minor), and Law(major) at Stanford University and as pretentious as it may sound, I do believe that my argument may be a tad bit more articulate than yours, hopefully I am not mistaken in this statement. Honestly, this response of mine is annoyingly extensive and I am very tired. This is my last response toward you, at least in regards to the topic at hand.
well about 2.2 billion people believe that Jesus was the son of god and was born. more people believe this than any other religion, yours included.
according to recent studies approximately 70% of the population of the US are Christians.
Now back to the people of United States being Christians who worship and celebrate the birth of the Almighty God on December 25th....
I don't agree that most people born in the United States think the God of this universe actually has a birthday.
You only speak for the meanest of crooks in America, those who are so stingy that they wouldn't give anything to anyone unless they are tricked into believing that the kindest King of all mankind has a birthday just like us.
historybuff, great derail and diversionary tactics as usual.
Your defense of evil people who hide and work in prisons is always good for a cynical laugh.
Who actually cares if a rapists hiding in a jail admits to being a homosexual before or after raping you?
he was born in Bethlehem according to the bible.
woahwoahwoah I didn't say it was limited to the unites states jeeeezzz. I just said a majority of people in the unites states follow the Christian religion. I was simply asking that you respect the beliefs and traditions of others, no matter how flawed those traditions and beliefs may be to you.
yeah... Najam is straight out crazy. I don't think it's possible to reason with him.
ask him about the demons that make men rape people. that's a good one. or how gays get themselves sent to prison on purpose to rape men.
LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOO LMFAOOO. I choked water
You don't understand power struggle.
Dare you claim that celebrating the birth of one whom people are even claiming is the Almighty God himself to be worthy of me or anyone claiming to be a Muslim person's respect.
First of all, who born in America even claims Jesus Christ was born in the winter day of December 25th?
Secondly, how do you decide who rightfully is an American with your entire Christopher Columbus fiasco, or even General Custer's escapades?
America is one nation under the one and only Almighty God of both heaven and Earth.
I hate to have to keep breaking it down to all the racists that he actually owns the entire planet, while fools claim his rulership is limited to the United States.
Jesus Christ was never an American.
Who can say he was born and raised in Jerusalem?
You can't just passive-aggressively conjure up a topic to debate upon when the playing field is heavily in your favor. In every argument you propose there is mention of your belief nearly every time. Now I understand that you are completely passionate and dedicated to get your point across in terms of your religious belief in the hope of someone agreeing with. But the sad reality is not every will hold the same beliefs as you. I respect the heck out of you in your persistence and dedication in speaking of your religion. I commend you on it. But to present an argument that is clearly biased and religiously motivated only signifies your ignorance in understanding where most of us on this app come from. Now I understand why you would want to verbally attack us at all. Because the POTUS has completely alienated you correct? Because he is a hateful man correct? Correct. America is in a bit of a crisis in terms of formal leadership and representation. But let me tell you that, as an American, I do not believe you are an enemy. I do not perceive you as a fool. Can you be a bit inarticulate and incomprehensive in your arguments? yes. But I know you are educated in some aspects. Such as religion! But it seems you are not so educated in American tradition. Christmas is a time where we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, a humongous religious figure within our society. We give gifts on this particular day in order to commemorate him in his birth. So please, if you have ever felt that people of rudely and crudely bashed your religion, or traditions or holidays, I sincerely apologize on behalf of them. But please, be the better person, be better than us Americans and do not do what we wrongfully do to others. I respect and see you clearly Najam. Do us the favor of doing the same for this tradition?
You replace the Almighty God who does good for people everyday with the notion of being good to people one day a year, if one manages to survive to that day.
You go to bed early on December 24th and wait for someone to sneak you a present.
I am taught give a present anytime I am able and don't have to even wait on the person to reach the next birthday before doing a good deed for them.
How weak is Santa that he only does the good for only one day a year?
America is not something that dictates what you have to do. America means persons who have fears and are vulnerables and they also have stereotypes. But at the same time they don't want to admit the real life. It's easier to love someone who says that you will be given a present than to love someone who explains you that not every single arabic is a terrorist whose bombs will destroy your life, like the news indicate us.
I will give one beauty point to the December 25th day. It forces 98% of the people who live life as work addicts to do something else for at least one day. They have such a classic line with "I have to work everyday or I can't live"
Ain't Santa cool for paying them to take his and Baby Jesus's special day as a paid holiday off work?
Santa says you're definitely a bigger crook than he is.
lmao. santa banned taco Bell. my god what an evil man.
you seriously need help najam.
You go eat at Father Michael Phlegers church for Christmas.
ok, now you definitely sound insane.
I'm sure santa totally said that about taco bell. just like Jesus often spoke against the evils of email
Santa says it's illegal to eat Taco Bell or White Castle on his and Baby Jesus's special day, so those places are closed to enforce that
You are just a criminal who is lying and pretending that only the Chinese food places are allowed to make money on Santa Claus day.
Stop trying to lie about everything that happens on December 25th.
Some people don't actually want to go eat at a church, a homeless shelter, eat Chinese food, or have a nice family to share a home cooked meal with.
You're mean enough to think that those whose only family member is a dog, deserves to be forced into a Chinese restaurant on December 25th.
what does that have to do with anything?
Christmas is a Christian holiday. Santa has pretty much nothing to do with religion though. that is the topic that you posted. now you are talking about Chinese people being open. that completely unrelated.
this is why no one wants to talk to you.
You should look at the establishments permitted to remain open during the Christianity imposition day. The Chinese seem to have immunity to the standards.
December 25th isn't the day Jesus was born. Jesus was born in the summer. they moved it to co opt the pagan winter solstice festival of Saturnalia.
but the modern version of santa is just about consumerism. there is nothing religious about it.
Then why only close the majority of business for Santa's day? Some people don't believe December 25th is Jesus's birthday.
santa has absolutely nothing to do with Christianity. once again, you make no sense.
You are forced to close your store even if you don't believe in Santa coming on the birthday of Jesus.
