Christian values like slavery, sexism, and no freedom of speech?
While I feel the falling popularity of Christianity and religion in general in the US has lead to some households with a lower standard of morals, I don't think religion is necessary for said morals to be reintroduced. We just need to start putting our money and effort back into making a reliable education system. If we teach our children at home AND at school the values in life, we won't need to rely on people putting stock into religion.
Speaking of common sense... Outside of the debate I invite everyone who haven't yet to read Thomas Paine's common sense :))
America needs more common sense morals in general but mind you that this is a country of diversity. Why only Christian morals when many more religions share equally compassionate views. This is a statement of a religious popularity contest.
Everyone could use better morals in general I suppose, not necessarily religious ones
