socialism is a whole spectrum of ideas ranging from simple regulation to full blown communism and a million ideas in between.

socialism is a morally corrupt idea is your opinion, and an opinion developed in ignorance in my opinion. you can't even seem to define the thing your declare as morally corrupt. and your naive view that capitalism can do no wrong is cute. capitalism works on a balance. the system as a whole requires competition or it will collapse, but individual capitalists primary goal is to eliminate competition. without regulation and oversight capitalism will spiral into a consolidation of wealth and power.

did you like the environment of the early industrial revolution? pure capitalism, 0 regulations, a true nightmare hellscape ridden disease and misery while 5 people became filthy rich of the labor and misery of the people.

ideals don't work in reality, neither communism or capitalism.

dude, that was like 30 weak points. pick a few and let's debate but this will get billigeraent of we decide to tackle everything.

was Venezuela rich before communism? it was a dirt poor nation that rode a temporary oil wave. communism or capitalism, the 3rd world is the 3rd world.

and lenin can say whatever he wants, 1 man doesn't define an idea. Leninism has its difference with Marxism, both of which are different then the many modern forms of socialism. Let's let a dictionary a consensus define our terms, not an someone from 100 years ago.

Socialism will have people starve to death more than it will help them. Capitalism helps the "1%" give jobs to people. but if you make america socialistic then you're asking for less development, less jobs, and more crime. And socialism is contradictory in itself. Socialism is an ideology thats states that man and the universe are equal. it places god on the same level as man. And you may say "what if I'm not religious?" thats the thing you'd be in the minority considering nearly 85% of socialists have claimed to be religious.

Vladamir lenon even stated "the goal of socialism is communism" and socialism is a bankrupt moral belief. Yes america implements many socialist believes like social security, but it won't last and hurts development more than helps. Look at Venezuela 93% of them can no longer afford food and are living in poverty but many people cherry pick their facts saying "oh but look at their imports and exports" or how people say Sweden is such a rich and perfect socialist place. Ever since the full on socialist movement crime has gone up significantly and rape rste has gone up 5% thats a lot.

It's not an either/or.
America has always had aspects of socialism since after the liberitarian nightmare of the early industrial revolution. it was at its height during FDR's new deal, which lead to the height of America's posperity.

do you know what socialism Is? Or do you just see an oversimplified boogeyman caricature pushed by highly specific sources? do you use it as the same word as communism, it's most extreme form?

so you should let rich people own everything and let all the poor people starve to death?

that is what you are describing.
