No. absolutely not. Christian dont do violence. if there is a christian do the violence its just the misleading ideology or concept. cause religion itself teach us to do a good things. in other hand, violence comes from many others aspects, we cant 'point' this religion as a reason to do violence especially christian. cause christian itself know that violence is not good and ban by them because of the 'loving concept' like slap my right face and i'll give you the left without revange. if there people who is christian do the violence, i believe that this person dont really understand about what is the meaning of christian.
that is exactly my point. some people on here are trying to paint Islam as violent. Christianity has just as much blood, if not more, on its hands SS Islam. but in the end it's about people being violent, not the religion.
I will flip on this Christians aren't violent people are regardless of religion.
as i said i am not saying there was no violence committed in the name of Christianity. all i was saying is that the Crusades are not the best example. witch hunts on the other hand are.
And whose aggression were the witch hunts in response to?
If you are counting since around 625, it's about four centuries actually
ok i agree that people have been killed unjustly in the name of Christianity(mostly within the Catholic church in my opinion). but people need to realize that the Crusades are not a very good example. the Crusades where fought in retaliation to almost a century of Islamic aggression.
The Crusades is a good example.
it's unjust to criticize the whole group for a select minority though. That's bad sects of every religion (atheist included). Just because a select group is bad or an individual, doesn't justify saying all are bad. (and vice versa)
You're shifting the goal posts. In the topic you clearly stated that we should prove Christianity is violent. You're trying to derail the points and shift them to a comparison of Islam rather than an analysis of Christianity.
All that has to be shown in this discussion is that portions of the christian texts have been used to commit violence, and that such justifications were institutional (I.e. Church sanctioned and agreed upon by a larger number of followers). I would say that's pretty easy to do when you look at the inquisition, the Witch hunts, etc....
well you say suicide bomb if bombs were available at that time he would have bombed entire cities and would have made them into pieces of brick and rivers of blood
mohammad killed people with his own bare hands
Jesus started Christianity, he has not run it for more than 2000 years. Mohammed never suicide bombed anything, but that doesn't absolve the Muslims who have. Moses didn't oppress the Palestinians, but the Israeli government and military (Jews) have. Christ didn't kill anyone, but Christians most definitely have.
did jesus kill anyone ?
you're kidding right? Christians have killed millions of people. from the attacks on pagans in the Roman empire, the crusades, wars against "heretics", witch trials, to the forced conversion of native Americans. Christians have been killing people for almost 2000 years. you can't seriously think Christians have never been violent.
christians were never violent.
