I am introverted. I am also in sales and talk to people all day. It isn't that I am insecure, or even self-conscious. I just would rather read a book than go out.

Introvert doesn't always mean insecure. They are different things because introvert comes from ones’s low self-confidence, while insecure comes from worry. So, they are totally different. When we are facing problem, being introverted is the false option as the problem isn't going to be solved by itself. Sharing is the best way to do, you'll get other comments or suggestion you need and I'm sure you are not going to be an introvert person as it's a big no-no for being introverted as a social human being,
