You can't separate partisanship from ideology?

you clearly have a very limited understanding of socialism. most of modern world has lots of socialism built into them. it is a requirement of being a functioning modern state. things like unemployment, old age pensions, baby bonuses etc. America already has these things. these things work all over the world. America and 3rd world dictatorships are the only places that seriously debate whether this is a good thing.

as of 2009 58 countries have socialized health care including virtually all of Europe. maybe if you didn't spend more than the next 10 top spending countries countries combined on your military you could actually take care of your own people.

Bernie2020, if you want to block people on here simply because they disagree with you, then you don't belong here. If you want to block people on here because they are calling you names or being disrespectful, then I would say it is warranted. However, I haven't seen anything on here that could be characterized as such.

Here's the fact... Bernie HIMSELF called himself an Democratic socialist. Which, nowadays, is essentially a socialist, because Democrats have been going more and more toward the socialist end of the political continuum. If you don't believe me, you may want to educate yourself on what socialism is. Most of the things Bernie campaigned on, such as free healthcare for the poor, free school for the poor, etc, are ALL part of a socialist ideology that has been proven time and time again to inevitably fail every time it is attempted. The only places where this sort of political ideology can ACTUALLY work, are places like Sweden, or the Nordic countries, who's military is PAID FOR BY US. We don't have that luxury here in America, and because we choose to protect these other countries, most of our tax money goes toward the military. This is why Socialism can't work in America. That isn't an opinion either. That is an absolute fact. Try crunching the numbers yourself and there is no way you can make it work. It's almost like trying to jam a triangle shaped block into a circular hole. It just can't work.

if your talking about his person political beliefs...what does independent even mean?

and which is more important, his party memberships, or actual beliefs and ideals?
