Jobs' obsession with the looks and design probably took him time to come up with product and gave Gates the time window to launch a "just about enough working" version to the "immature" market at that time. So I would not call it a theft per say.

Umm, Steve Jobs was famous for integrating EXISTING inventions and making them seamlees with his products.
But it's not how whether you invent which defines success, but rather how you use it.

Steve Jobs was a master at doing that.
