Yes, they are continuing to evolve and change. Why do you believe they will somehow surpass us and overthrow humans in places? What makes you think they could somehow surpass us?
If monkeys start developing gunpowder and metallurgy, I suspect people will kill them off before they can be come any kind of real threat.
I honestly believe that they will evolve however we will be too far ahead in evolution and too far technologically advanced for them to even think about overthrowing our species
Chimpangees have already come to know about languages and invrnting things. About 6000 years from now, chimps would be more intelligent.
"They will not evolve anymore" is a joke
Why do you believe this? Nowhere does evolution indicate that this should happen, let alone must happen. All this proves is that you have no understanding of evolution.
unless they are introduced to some magic gas
They will not evolve to anything more
We are the evolution of them , and humans are the climax of their evolution. So In technicality as we evolve so do they as we are what they evolved to.
Could the disagreed side elaborate?
There would be nations run by monkeys, like monkeynesia, etc. Soon they would keep humans in zoo. Infact old countries would be newly formed into monkey nations. We humans might face extinction under these apes. Remember, we humans were brainless monkeys too. So sooner or later, these monkeys are going to evolve. Have you ever seen ' Rise of planet of apes'?
