That means I will lose, alot. But as the saying gos "to thyself, be true".
debates are won precisely by how many see your views closest to their own and if they outnumber the rest that see the debate.
Yeah I think someone can win a debate but the majority of debates I've seen or been in it seems as though the people debating will entrench themselves into their beliefs and the debate becomes futile
I would say yes. Victory in a debate can be calculated based on many factors but the simplest one would simply be the ability to change your opponents stance on an issue. A dialectical argument in which each contestant chooses to take from the discussion some form of education seems to be the more pragmatic approach, but debates can be very rewarding experiences
