That depends on the relationship they develop. They 2 states would have alot on common. I'd say it would depend on whether the US can handle not being able to dictate to the world.
If they become rivals, do you think the relations between the US and the hypothetical USE ( united states of europe) would sour? will there be an another cold war?
the US has a population of 323 million. the EU has at least 500 million.
the GDP of both the EU and US are about 18.5 trillion Dollars.
if the EU became one country it would be an instant super power to rival the US.
United States of Europe? If it does, would it be powerful than US economically and militarily?
it could become a country, that is the end goal of the EU project. but it doesn't seem to be working out.
several NATO countries aren't in the EU. and there are EU countries not in NATO I'm pretty sure.
