Adults who understand the consequences should have the right to smoke themselves into a hospital bed if they please.
If a person's wishes to ruin his life no one can help me even if u ban cigarette he will definitely find something alternative to it
do you mean wasting their life health wise or contribution wise?
People wasting their life is bad for the economy
I say let's legalise all the drugs and sell them so the people who want to waste their life do it but by improving economy of a country
Some do argue that, I'm unsure if the cost/benefit is so easy to weight for drugs like heroin, cocaine, and meth.
then let's legalize all drugs, let people kill themselves on addictions legally.
I wonder whether what you say is just a joke, or you're genuinely a bigoted idiot
I will make my argument with a marijuana analogy.
If we legalize marijuana, the by far most common illegal substance, there will not be enough demand to support the large number of drug dealers currently in business. Less demand means less supply, means fewer and farther apart dealers needed to carry the supply, = less crime.
adding another substance, especially one used even more than marijuana, and one that is more addictive to marijuana, means more illegal demand, more drug dealers, and more crime.
Also, any area that is effectively enforcing ID checking makes legal substances extremely difficult for children to aquire. Drug dealers not only don't check for ID, but can also advertise their much harder drugs to those coming to them for a simple cigarette, thus it is not the drug that creates the gateway to harder drugs, but the illicit economy one has to go through to get the initially lighter drug.
so why will cigarettes be any better?
the us goverment tried to ban alchol once. it was almost as big a fail as obamacare, maybe even worse.
If cigarettes are banned, it will certainly help a lot of people quit smoking by making it less available.
As for the rise in black market. There's a black market for everything. Just adding one more product in it's large array of banned items should not have a huge impact on the crime rate. Though it will certainly improve the health and lives of countless people. So tell me what matters more?
we must execute smokers
yea. if the government takes away something that most people love to do, then crimes arise.
that would just create dodgy backstreet dealers
