It's a very similar set up to Debate.org
thank you jarardin sorry if mispelled
i actually really like debate art now. they have a system for 1 on 1 debates with limited rounds and peer voting. its quite fun
a debate is a whole different experience with limited rounds. no more going in circles. its marvelous!
i at one point wanted a larger community and more complex interface. i have since changed my mind. a more complex interface ended up creating numerous, simultaneous, discussions in the same thread... all of which were identical and created endless repetition. larger community meant way more trolls, and people who make generic comments then vanish. it was impossible to have consistent long term engagement with any hope of changing minds.
i have since grown to appreciate the cozy scale and simplicity of this app... sometimes it gets alittle dead, and devs need to fix a bunch of bugs, but this is the only place where i have been able to really get to know another person based on numerous positions instead of just shouting default talking points with zero progress.
is it the people? large crowd? small crowd? % of trolls?
is it the format? simple? complex?
what are the pros and cons?
