Democracy is definitely more representative than a dictatorship, but not necessarily better. A dictatorship is more decisive, since there is no need to put everything to a committee. A dictatorship can be more stable, since the people in power don't change every few years. A dictatorship can be good, if the dictator is good. Most of the time they are not since the people want the job tend to not be nice people, but there have been a few good ones. Look up Habib Bourguiba from Tunisia for one example.
