although in defense of despacito... I haven't heard it But it has daddy Yankee in it. reggeaton is a pretty ethnic specific music that isn't mainstream popular. not surprised you or I aren't big fans. personally I can't listen to much classic reggea or bollywood music either. just not my cup of tea.
but both rap and rock on the radio is objectively garbage. hard to say objectively anything about music and opinion things... But when your music is following some industry blueprint... it's objectively garbage with maybe 1 exception.
for example. all rap on the radio including anything by wheezy, jeezy, sneezy or anyone who sounds like they could be one of the 7 dwarfs is absolute garbage and I have no idea how people listen to it.
Rick Ross doesn't even rap. he is literally talking normally. I have no idea how they are more famous then skilled underground rappers like techn9ne, hopsin, or the even less known and highly blues melodic atmosphere. Eminem is the only talented famous rapper, and he only got famous acting like a clown.
I can say the same about most pop music.
4 billion views on youtube for a shitty song like it..... wow! kinda amazed. Fck despacito. piece of crap.
