I think I agree with you there! I hate the way newspapers are portraying it, I saw one headline "we want to harvest your babies organs"
If they're absolutely sure that the baby won't survive, and the mother agrees, then why let organs that could save a life go to waste? But only if the mother agrees by written (and maybe recorded, spoken) statement.
basically the nhs are talking about giving women who are pregnant with babies that have defects that mean they won't live for more than a few hours after they are born, advice and help on allowing the pregnancy to go full term so that when the baby has died their organs can be used in transplants.
