You're all good, Killer. I think this guy is either a troll or a douche. I hope he proves me wrong on both accounts
I'm not here to get people mad. I don't want to be a troll myself, but if your going to attack me. Be sure you know what you read before doing so. And Understand that I didn't say. "Dodgeball shouldn't be a sport or any sorts of that."
I think I made someone mad... I like the name Killer. What is your issue? Or are you a troll?
Okay, firstly, if you have a comment about one of the threads, make it on that thread. I will finish my response on the thread you should have posted on.
I made a post on school uniforms and you did not agree or disagree pick one dude.
Dude, don't attack the person, attack the argument. Using ad hominem is a good way to make everyone never listen to you.
And, he wasn't saying that it's easy or doesn't help you to get into shape; it is good cardio.
Boy i'm really about to get you. Why is your name killer. Thats the so stooopid what where you thinking when making that name. Your an abomination to the sport that is dodgeball. Wanna see some real dodgeball go on ESPN the ocho.
The question is. Will they allow it to be a physical activity that proves your in good shape.
WE should look to your idol patches OHoulihan dodgeball should be allowed
i ride horse in my school. i fell many times.
Also, people are always gonna risk being hurt in anything, whether it's track, or freaking streches. Schools are just getting all protective becaus eof the risk of being sued
I love dodgeball, do what if someone gets hurt, toughen up
I wasn't particularly good at PE, but I still enjoyed dodgeball. It's a fun game.
dodgeball should not be banned. people are getting hurt because they are just standing around.
Dodgeball should be allowed in PE. First, the kids will not get hurt because the ball is soft and it is not hurtable. Dodgeball is fun and competitive source of exercise that has been played for so many years. Dodgeball also requires you to run which helps keep our heart rate up and leg muscles. It also improves throwing and catching skills which needed to play the game. Kids will enjoy playing dodgeball. Also, many people like dodgeball and it is a safe game.
I think we should be able to play dodgeball in school because a lot of people like to play it but staff in our school don't allow it because they think its dangerous. It is dangerous but it also really fun and a great workout. I also think it's a group activity and will get everyone involved.
Should dodge ball be allowed in school? This is a question that has been asked many times. In my opinion, I would say no. The reason why is because of the injuries. While playing dodge ball, you can get hurt numerous times. Another reason why is because once you get hit by the ball, you’re out. I’d rather play a sport where I can participate full time. However in dodge ball, if you’re out, you normally have to stay out until the game is over.
Dodgeball should be allowed in physical education. The opposition says that dodgeball allows the weaker players to get out with no effort and it is dangerous, but dodgeball gives players an adequate amount of physical activity. It emphasizes quick decision making, reaction time, and is a fun game with rules that are very simple to comprehend.
I think that it would be a good idea to play dodgeball because, it is a classic sport treated differently than it should be. So I think that if we the students get to play this game, we would all learn the true nature of this sport. Another valid point is that now we will get a chance to not only sharpen are skills in running to catch and pass the ball, but also in dodging skillfully and agility. This game will also greatly improve our marksmanship with a large object depending not only on aim, but also strength of the arm muscles for a better, more straight throw. These are all the reasons why I think that we should be able to play dodge ball in our gym class. -UJJWAL
Gym. What’s the first thing that pops into your head? Work and Oh No, right? When I think about PE I think about games! Dodge ball, soccer, football, you name it. What do all of those have in common… fun! Have you ever heard someone say Ah!!! I’m going to die on the field… well, no you are not. I think dodge ball should be allowed in gym because it will build, self esteem, effort, and friendship. You are going to have fun, work as a team, and practice. People say dodge ball is the worst because you get hit a lot, with FOAM balls. It’s ok, you are going to make it. But really dodge ball helps you work on many traits. You can focus and learn skills when playing the game. Whether you are dodging and throwing, the game is testing your abilities. Dodge ball is a hard game, but when you win it’s like you are the king of the world believe me. I’m awesome at dodge ball. You learn to keep trying and to work harder in gym too. Maybe your team is really bad, but now you can teach, learn, and figure out a way to work together. This game builds on that skill which is to learn how your other classmates think and play. So, I think I have done enough to show that dodge ball is wanted and needed at school.
I believe dodgeball should not be allowed in physical education due to the emotional and physical stress it puts on the students. While some may say, "Hey, at least children know what their weaknesses are," there are some downsides to that.
First off, sure, children DO probably find out their weaknesses. But even then, they probably won't be able to improve upon their weaknesses due to the more "physically strong" ones just pounding them with a ball, making them in the same position as they were before. Knowing your weaknesses is great and all, but ACTING UPON them is even more highly valued; Dodgeball is taking away that freedom from kids.
Also, people say that the children need to know how the "real world" is. Well, school in general can teach children that and many other things. Teaching is great, but PROPER teaching is the best, and obviously, dodgeball does NOT provide that.
The question has been asked many times, but no one has given a proper answer. Should dodgeball be allowed in public schools, I say yes. This is because not only is it fun for the students it also raises their competitive side. It will also raise the child's stamina agility and reactions. There are many more positive effects caused from allowing use to play dogeball, so I say yes what about you.
No, dodgeball should not be allowed in physical education. Dodgeball is a team sport that can hurt someone. A kid that is hit in dodgeball has to sit out of gym for the rest of the class. There can be more and more injuries and more kids will have to sit out. This is why I think that dodgeball should not be allowed in schools.

In my opinion dodgeball is a fun and exciting game which I think could be included in the curriculum. There many reasons to support that dodgeball should be taught because for starters, you improve your catching and agility skills. Also you get to stay in touch with your speed for running. So you end up getting a sufficient work out for your body while still enjoying yourself.
Dodgeball should be allowed in PE. First of all, one of the man arguments is that you can get injured or hurt. Think about it, throwing a soft ball at someone won't hurt them. They get injured by falling, which is also a rare occurrence. People also said that only the athletic kids will enjoy it. Don't forget, the point of gym is to stay fit and be athletic. If you do not push yourself in gym, its your own fault. Dodgeball is also a quick competitive game which many people will enjoy.
I believe that dodgeball should be played in gym. dodgeball is a fun and competitive source of exercise that has been played for decades. When gym or exercise is thought of usually pull up or sit ups is brought to mind grueling and boring types of exercise. But dodgeball brings a hint of joy into an otherwise disliked activity. Furthermore, dodgeball also is a excellent source of exercise which many schools play. In dodgeball the objective of the game is to not get hit, hit other, and/or get others out by catching the ball. Dodgeball increases your reflexes as to avoid getting out, and to avoid getting hit by the ball you must dodge it. Dodgeball also requires you to run which helps your heart and leg muscles. Dodgeball also requires you to throw hard or at least strategically which requires you to use your intelligence and also works on hand eye coordination to throw the ball. While some may say that dodgeball is a source of bullying or aggressiveness i believe that if played right dodgeball should be played in gym.
I believe that dodge ball should be played in gym.Dodge-ball is a productive, fun, strategic, and exercise oriented game that should be allowed in physical education. Dodge ball not only brings a hint of joy into an otherwise disliked class. But also increases your reflexes, run which helps your heart and leg muscles, and throw hard or at least strategically which requires you to use your intelligence and also works on hand eye coordination to throw the ball. While some may say that dodge-ball is a source of bullying or aggressiveness i believe that if played right dodge-ball should be played in gym.
hahaha alex i think so. you know these all guys are morons. they are all one guy and made over 50 accounts to show as if dodgeball is sooo interesting :)
Students should be allowed to play dodgeball in gym. Dodgeball helps show students what they need to improve on, if they can’t hit the other team, then they need to practice accuracy. If the student typically isn’t that good in gym, when they catch the ball, or get someone out, a wave of confidence rises. It shows that they can do good. Life is very complicated, there are the rich, poor, and middle class, obviously that is dealing with money, but dodgeball can tell you where you stand with your ability to survive without money, your ability to protect and defend yourself. Dodgeball tells you where you stand in life, if you get out early in the game, you are weak and need to practice to improve, it tells you early on that life isn’t easy and you have to try to succeed. It makes the students want to work hard and succeed to win at the game, and life.
Dodgeball should not be allowed to play in schools. Dodgeball is a fun game to play, if you’re strong and athletic, but no one ever thinks about the weaker kids. Games are fun to play when everyone is involved. Gym teachers are supposed to make sure that all kids, strong or weak do some kind of physical activity in gym class. Dodgeball is a game where a ball is thrown at a person to eliminate them from the game, therefore it only includes a limited amount of kids, mostly the ones who don't even need the physical exercise. Dodgeball also plays with a student’s feelings, and can make them lose self esteem. Being hit by a hard ball is not going to make any kid feel good about themselves. This is not what physical education is supposed to be about. Essentially, dodgeball should not stay in school, and should be banned.
I think that dodgeball shouldn’t be allowed Physical Education, and if it is, there should be some limits put in place. Many dodgeball supporters believe that dodgeball mimics the real world and teaches children to be leaders. But dodgeball doesn’t teach leadership, it teaches to prey upon the weak when you have power. Sports like football, soccer, lacrosse, etc. teach kids how to work with others no matter their weaknesses. These sports teach children to take on leadership roles, not as dictators who believe they are better than everyone else but a role models for their fellow peers. It teaches children that sports is about teamwork and sportsmanship rather than just showing off how good you are at hitting a random kid with a ball. And doesn't school already teach kids about the real world? This is one of the most tested generations in America, kids these days are constantly being ranked and ordered and being exposed to the winner-loser philosophy. Dodgeball is just adding to the competitiveness of their already stressful lives. Kids are already taught to be aware about the real world, so can we let gym class be the one class that promotes teamwork and satisfaction rather than uber-competitiveness? That is why I think dodgeball shouldn't be played in public schools, and if it is played than rules to ensure safety should be enforced.
I think dodgeball should be allowed during the fitness day. Playing dodgeball is fun and gives us good exercise.
Yes, I believe that dodgeball should be allowed in gym. Dodgeball is a great physical activity. It improves your reflexes. It also improves basic throwing and catching skills, which are needed to play the game. It is also a team sport, which can help you develop cooperative skills. Dodgeball is an activity that is good for your body and mentality, and it should be allowed in P.E.
I believe that dodgeball should be allowed in physical education. It is an exciting game for kids, and helps kids work out while having fun. It increases a kids reflexes and makes them more aware of their surroundings. Building teamwork skills also one of the many benefits of dodgeball in physical education. It gets kids more willing to participate and try during gym class because of the friendly competition. A lot of people say that this game is dangerous and kids could get hurt, but if you are playing safely and correctly then kids should be fine.
I think dodgeball should be allowed in gym classes. Dodgeball is a fun and active game that requires many skills such as eye coordination, using reflexes, arm strength and much more. This sport also teaches kids how to make quick decisions and pay more attention to what's going on around them.
I think that it should be allowed because it is a cardiovascular game where you have to run and dodge at the same it. It also involves how accurate you throw to hit moving targets. Also, you have to move faster when people are throwing the ball at you. The best part is that it is very FUN!!!!!!
I think that dodgeball should be allowed in physical education because it is a fun sport that uses a lot of skill, strength, and teamwork. Also, many people think the dodgeball is a violent game, but it really isn't. Dodgeball is a game that is very fun and easy to play so many people like it comma also there's no reason to think it is dangerous because of a soft ball that will hit you.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Thvisha Masireddy~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Period 5
I think that dodgeball should be allowed in Phys Ed because it's a great way to exercise and it's fun, too. Dodgeball helps you improve your agility and reflexes since you have to dodge the ball. It also helps you practice throwing and catching the ball.
seriously another account? I think you got your message across.
I believe that students should be able to play dodgeball in gym class. In recent years, many people have tried to have it taken out of gym class because students were getting hurt playing and other students became the target of bullying while they were playing the game. Parents might say that some kids act aggressively and too competitively when they play the game while other kids might not be able to play the game at such a high level that they might feel bad about themselves. Even though there might be some truth behind their reasons, I think there are more reasons to have it included in gym class First, dodgeball gets students physically active and involved in class because all students can play at one time. It is a fast paced game and can improve your speed, agility and reflexes. Secondly, since dodgeball is a group game, so students can learn teamwork and sportsmanship. The students on each team have to work together to protect each other, while knocking their opponents out. You have to work together for a common goal of winning. It also teaches you to win or lose with grace. Lastly, playing dodgeball toughens you up. In life, there are plenty of chances when you might get physically hurt or emotionally hurt. Playing dodgeball teaches you how to deal with bumps and bruises that you may get physically or mentally so that when bigger issues come up later, you can handle them.
Even though Dodge ball has a few negative qualities, the positive ones outweigh the unfavorable effects. Dodgeball is a fun, interactive game that improves the agility and reflexes of all the players. Claims that dodgeball causes too many injuries are false. Preventing students from playing the game isn’t right, because everything in life can cause injuries. Also, dodgeball is one of the few games that require everyone to play, for everyone has to keep an eye out for the ball(s). This will force everyone to participate.
did some guy whose school banned dodgeball make 50 accounts?
I think that Dodge Ball should be included in Gym. This is because it’s very fun and interactive. It includes a lot of movement which is good for exercise. This sport also increases agility and balance. It also improves strength. It has an impact on hand-eye coordination and improves flexibility. It’s a stress-reliever and develops fast reflexes. It builds teamwork and is uplifting.
My Opinion : Yes
I believe that dodge ball should be played in every Physical Education Class because not only is it a fun game, but it also helps you to work out a lot of aspects of your body. One example is that when you try and dodge a ball you improve your reflexes so that you can react real quickly to the situation at hand. Also, when you throw the ball it helps with your hand-eye coordination because you have to use both your eyes and your hands to bring about the intended result. Another reason, is because dodgeball helps you with arm strength because when trying to hit a target you throw with force and eventually you start throwing with more force than you were able to before. And, lastly dodge ball is also a good exercise and a fun game to play, and that is why I think that dodge ball should be played in every Physical Education Class.
I agree that we should play dodgeball at school because it is very fun to play. Also, when you are playing you are concentrating on the target and to get them out. Also, you have to pay close attention to where the opponent is hitting the ball.
Dodgeball should be one of the activities that should be in gym classes. Dodgeball can improve many aspects of students like eye-coordination, fast reflexes, balance, and builds teamwork. It has a lot of physical aspects in the game, having students to interact with others and to be active during the game.
I think that dodgeball should be allowed in gym. Dodgeball is a sport that a lot of kids love these days, and it’s also a great workout! People can also let off steam when a bad day comes. Also added to the fact that dodgeball isn’t dangerous is that most dodgeballs are foam. Foam! How can you get injuries from foam!? Also, according to an article by Time For Kids, it states, “Rick Hanetho, founder of the National Amateur Dodgeball Association, says the game allows kids who are not good athletes to participate in a team sport. He also argues that it teaches hand-eye coordination, concentration and the ability to think and draw quick conclusions. “ As you can see, it teaches many skills to kids and has many benefits.
I think that dodgeball should be allowed in P.E. because it can give you a good workout. Even though it causes injuries, they are usually small ones because dodgeball is usually played with a rubber ball. Dodgeball can improve your arm and leg strength. By playing dodgeball students will be better at P.E.
This is Jason =)
I think Dodgeball should be added because first the game in fun. Also that it forces kids to run around so they do not get hit by the ball to get out. Also it help kids catch because if you catch the ball the person who throw it out so it inspires kids to actually catch the ball and not get hit. Also it makes kids obviously dodge the balls.
I think dodgeball should be allowed in schools because it is a fun game. In dodgeball the goal is to hit the members of the other team with a ball while dodging the ball coming from the other team, and whichever team gets the whole other team out first wins. So, these rules allow for a player to have a friendly competitions against fellow competitors. This game involves strategy as well because you have to dodge the ball while trying to get the main players of the opposing team out. The children’s appreciation for this game also makes it a great sport to have during middle school gym.
I just have a feeling the people who disagreed sucked at dodge ball
Dodge ball was always great. It helps your reflexes and hand eye coordination when you are dodging and throwing balls. When you play, you are building muscles by running around and throwing balls back. And you are just generally having a good time while playing dodgeball. It was a serious mistake getting rid of dodgeball just because kids got hurt. Getting hurt is a part of life, they should grow up and face the pain.
Dodgeball should be allowed in Phys Ed because it is a great way to exercise. It also helps with agility because then you can dodge the ball easily. Dodgeball is a team sport and while having fun and exercising, you also learn teamwork. You will not get hurt in dodgeball unless you don’t follow the rules. Plus, it's a soft ball, that can’t injure anyone too badly. Overall, I think that dodgeball is a great thing to play in physical education.
I think that dodge ball should be played in gym. My first reason is because since we already played volleyball we would most likely be able to play it more efficiently and it would be better for the students because they don’t have to struggle to play and have be able to have some fun. Another reason is that you can improve your reflexes because you don’t want to be hit or touch the ball when you can’t catch it. My third reason is that improves strength training. Also many people like the sport so they put more effort into the game. My final reason is that it’s a great form of exercise and improves your ability and balance.
Dodgeball should be allowed in Physical education because dodgeballis a great way to stay active and fit. Dodgeball requires people to stay light on their toes and keeps people moving. Dodgeball is a great way to exercise while having fun. This game makes people competetive and that competetive spirit makes kids more determined to win. That will make the students more active during the game. If dodgeball was allowed in P.E., students would become better athletes. Dodgeball is just a fun game that kids in P.E. will enjoy.
I think we should be allowed to play dodge ball in physical education. I think this because, dodge ball is still a sport where can still stay active, and get everyone to play and have fun. Since it’s pretty self explanatory that we have to “dodge” balls, this helps increase our agility and balance. Besides all of dodge balls health benefits, it’s really fun, especially when you get to play with friends and create ways to win! Overall, I think dodge ball should be allowed in physical education!
Yes, I think that dodge ball should be allowed in physical education. Some people argue that dodgeball is harmful, and that it shouldn’t be allowed in school, but there are a lot of good sides to dodge ball. Plus, if kids are protected when they are young, they wouldn’t know how to protect themselves when they get older. Dodge ball can lower your blood pressure. Since you literally have to dodge balls in dodge ball, it can improve your agility and balance. Dodge ball can also improve your strength in the shoulder, arms, etc. Playing this exciting game will improve your hand-eye coordination. Dodge ball also improves flexibility, because you have to keep on moving up and down. For people who aren’t that into sports, are you ever stressed about school, or just life in general??? Well, dodgeball can be a stress reliever. It’s fun, and it will make you laugh. All in all, the positive outcomes of dodgeball outweigh the negative effects. This is why dodgeball should be allowed in gym.

I believe that dodge ball should be allowed in PE. I think so because it is a great way to get kids active and moving. An argument against dodge ball that I hear a lot is that when someone is hit, they are out of play and don't get any exercise whatsoever. However, they are different variations of dodge ball that make it so that when someone gets hit, they go off to the side and do exercise to get back in.
I think that dodge-ball should be allowed in physical education. Dodge-ball is a great way to exercise. It helps you practice how to throw and catch the ball. It also stimulates the mind, allowing it to work faster in pressured situations. Dodge-ball needs mental power. It allows you to dodge the ball or catch it in stressed and fast situations. This strengthens your mind that can help in not only gym but also in academics. Dodge-ball is a team sport, so you have to learn to help your teammates, too, because at the end of the day, how MANY people are left is what matters, not just one person. Many people say that it can hurt you if you have to watch the game by being knock out fast. But, the gym teacher can change the rules to make it more friendly. So, dodge-ball should be allowed in public schools because it stimulates the mind, gets great exercise, and it is a friendly team sport.
- Anisha Ganesh ( Period 5 )
it's fun though!
Banning dodgeball because kids get hit is like banning soccer because kids get kicked. It doesn't make much sense. Dodgeball should be allowed
Dodge ball should most definitely be allowed in classes, because dodge ball helps kids learn about how life is tough, and with the harsh rules of dodge ball, many kids may learn how we can't expect our mothers to baby us when ever life gets hard.
Dodge ball also helps students learn many things that help them in life, for example it is a great source of hand eye coordination, as well as it assists students in their speed and reflexes greatly.
I think that dodge ball SHOULD be allowed in physical education because it is a very fun and active game. Dodge ball is a game where students are formed into two teams and each team plays against each other. There will be a line of balls at the center and when the whistle blows, both teams will race to get the balls and throw it toward one another trying to “hit” a player. This game is surprisingly lots of fun and also uses tactics. Teams come up with creative methods to score points. Overall, I think that dodge ball should be allowed in physical education.
Dodgeball should not be banned from our physical education. This sport allows the students to practice many skills, such as using reflexes and throwing balls (which involves aiming and arm strength. ) It revolves around fitness. That is what our gym teachers want us students to have ; An activity involving fitness. Though, this sport may be a little violent, banning the sport is not necessary. Some limitations could be set place.
I think dodgeball should be allowed in physical education. Although it may cause injuries, they are only slight ones. Students will learn how to defend themselves by playing dodgeball. For example, a soccer player would never be a good goalie unless he/she decided to take a different path and try being goalie. They might get hurt a few times, but would later get the hang of it. If dodgeball was allowed in P.E., students would become better athletes. Also, playing dodgeball would be a learning experience. Not only would students learn to keep trying hard, they would learn more skills needed for gym class, and have better reflexes. All in all, dodgeball should be allowed in physical education.
The answer from me is yes. Dodgeball is a sport which should be played because it improves your focus and your stamina. Even if it causes an injury, it doesn’t really matter because, from getting hurt, you get new experiences. It is awesome because you have to dodge balls, which are going to be thrown at you. So it even increases your speed, agility ,and defensiveness. It also helps you to focus more on balance and aim.If you like this sport or not, you should really try and play this game for your own benefit.
Varenya Mutnuri (Period 5 Gym)
Yes. I think dodgeball should be allowed in physical education. First, it gives you lots of cardiovascular exercise. It improves circulation of blood throughout the body. Secondly, it improves flexibility and reflexes. This is important because you’ll be able to keep your eye on many things at the same time. For flexibility, you are twisting, and bending frequently. Over time, your flexibility improves. Lastly, it involves teamwork., which is an important skill to have throughout your life. This will help you gain leadership skills, and help solve many problems. Dodgeball is a great sport to play, and can benefit us in many ways.
Hey, do you like playing sports? Whether your answer is a yes or a no, I believe that dodgeball is the sport for everyone to play. First off, dodgeball introduces children to a completely new aspect of PE. Many children already enjoy playing this wonderful sport, and playing this in school will encourage many others to do so also. Now, it is possible that children find this sport unreasonable and dislike the sport, but the chances are higher that children learn something by performing this activity, then completely hating it. To add, there are many more ways children can learn something by this than just improving athletic skills. Kids can find inspiration to play another sport. For example, by playing dodgeball a kid can realize he/she has great catching skills. He/she then might get attracted to playing baseball, a completely different but exciting sport to play. Finally, according to http://dodgeballworldchampionship.com/, dodge ball championships is the longest running event on the planet!
Obviously, playing dodge also has its positive effects in terms of athletic abilities. Children will improve your stamina, agility, speed, dodging, catching, and throwing skills. Playing dodgeball will strengthen all parts of a kid’s body and improve their weaknesses. Kids can practice by getting into the game and running around. In conclusion, I think dodgeball is a great sport that everyone should play in school!
I believe dodgeball should be allowed in physical education. It has far more pros than cons. Sure, you can get injured, but that only happens if you don’t follow the rules. Dodgeball is a great way to get all of your exercise in! Because you are running, both to get the ball and to avoid it, your stamina builds and you become faster. You also practice how to throw and catch the ball. This would help with your hand-eye coordination and reflexes. This game also helps you mentally. If you keep getting out, don’t whine about it. Come back and try your best to get the other person out. This helps you become tough and deal with difficulty. This also helps your social skills. Dodgeball is a team sport, so you have to learn to help your teammates, too, because at the end of the day, how MANY people are left is what matters, not just one person.
Snehidhi Sridhar (Period 5 Gym)
Dodgeball should not be banned from schools because it is an awesome opportunity for students to have fun; dodgeball is sport that lets you have team spirit, helps you know how to work together and cooperate, and finally, it opens you up to so many more creative ways to help your team win.
Should dodgeball be aloud in PE?
Yes I think dodge ball should be allowed in gym. Dodgeball is a really fun game and teaches new skills such as reflexes or making quicker decisions. It is just another game people might say it’s just another game but it isn't . Dodgeball is a good way to excercise and meet new people. Dodgeball is a popular sport in school and other places. It is a great way to build teamwork with other people. Also , instead of trying the same easy sports / games , you should try something fun and challenging, like dodgeball!
No one would get hurt; it's a soft ball.
"Dodge-ball requires you to dodge balls" Hahahaha.
thanks for clearing that up.
dodgeball helps quick thinking skills. if a weak kid is going to be picked on, most likely he is a smart kid. a weak, smart kid should be smart, and know where to go to not get hit, like not a corner where he is alone.
This sport like many others has several benefits, including hand/eye coordination, teamwork, building quick reflexes, learning to catch the ball, learning to throw the ball, building a competitive spirit, and, it's just fun! Many sports are "dangerous" including football (full speed running/tackling) baseball ( ball being throw at you) hockey (again, high speed projectile) rugby, and lacrosse. Should we stop all those sports because someone could get hurt, or should the players (who opted to play, by the way) figure out how to get better. There are much more dangerous sports than dodgeball. I'd venture to guess that more kids get hurt just playing on the monkey bars. Teach kids how to handle adversity and work through the pain to make them stronger rather than coddling them through life. Dodgeball is the american classic. Somebody is playing dodgeball every day. Most schools play with foam balls that you can barly feel. Some kids think it hurts I mean like... Don't be a sissy. Students should be able to play dodgeball because it is a good way to excercise and meet new people. Dodgeball is a popular sport in school and other places. It is a great way to build teamwork with other people. Please let students play dodgeball, at school and other places. Many people targeted and really hard on purpose this could be a form of bullying. Have you every seen the movies were the jocks pick on the wimpy little kid hiding in the corner that is what happens in the real life too. You don't know that it really does happen and those foam balls do hurt if you though them hard enough. It is a grade to do the game so its not a choice Also , instead of trying the same easy sports / games , you should try something fun and challenging, like dodgeball!
Personally, I think dodge-ball is awesome. This is because dodge-ball improves you're agility and speed. Dodge-ball requires you to dodge balls that sometimes may be coming fast and sometimes may be a little slower. Either way, it improves your way of thinking, speed, and agility. As you become better, it motivates you to move around and get in the game. Dodge-ball improves your catching and throwing skills. You will practice by catching fast balls and throwing fast balls. Many people think that playing dodge-ball will result in injuries but that is not necessarily true because we could use the soft kind of balls. This is why I think dodge-ball should be allowed in gym. ~~~~~~~~~Arjun Sarangapany (Period 5)
I believe that dodgeball should be allowed in Public Scholls PE.
These are the questions that you must ask yourself before going aginst the game of dodgeball
How is dodgeball Gym related?
Is it a fair sport/game?
Will it be able to keep in shape?
Well Yes, the game dodgeball is GYM related why? Because we play many games just like it but not know it.
Volleyball- In the game volleyball you must constantly be on the move and hit the ball back. Once in a while you will or you may get hit in the face with the ball, the thing is that we may not care a much.
Football- In my opinion I am scared off football But... I still play it to get over my fear. I know I may be trampled by a guy bigger than me but at the end of the game everyone had fun.
dodgeball is a simple catch and throw.
1 dodgeball game doest last the whole gym. also if you get out, do 20 push-ups to get back in. a school could have a version like that of they want fit kids.
being hit by a ball can't injure you especially if only thrown.
Even though Dodgeball is fun and all it has its negative effects. Dodgeball is a team sport that I would not like to play because it could potentially hurt them. In gym, people want to exercise , stay fit, and have fun. A child who is hit by a ball in the first few seconds spends the remainder of the game sitting on a bench, watching others. And then their whole gym time will be wasted. In this case, all that would happen, is that injuries would happen quite often and that people who remain in the game (according to critics) tend to become a bully. This is what our school wants the least. So in my opinion I think that Dodgeball should not be allowed in PE.~~~~~~~~~Ipshita Mashal (period 5).
and about picking on the weak ones, I would focus my attention on getting the other team's athletic kids out. catching the weak kid's throws were a lot easier then firing at them.
if kids don't like gym, won't they want to just stand there and do nothing.
I think that Dodgeball should not be allowed because of the injuries. So the ball may be soft but some aren't and and even then you still get hurt! Also, the Athletic kids enjoy this game so, but kids who don't dread it because they First, never get a turn to throw the dodgeball, Second, Are the first or last to get out and that is always a pain, and Third, the athletic kids are more evolved with the game and always they always fight, making the kids who don't like gym just stand there. Even though Dodgeball might seem like a fun game to people, most don't like dodgeball at all.
Personally I believe dodge ball builds strength and connection between each teammate, and forces the strong to take leadership roles, and the weak to follow them, just like in real life. For instance, only the best and the most hardworking make it to the top of the company, and the lagers must obey, and follow their instructions. I believe dodge ball should be allowed also because it's a good way to let out anger, and face your demons. Today in the world, people are blaming world violence and shooting on violent video games and dangerous activities. In my personal experience, I play some of the most violent games available, but it helps me take by anger out, and sports such as boxing, wrestling, and many others do the same. Dodge ball should be allowed to be played in school. ~~~~~~~~~Keshav Gupta (per 1)
It's a game. Why not play it?
Personally, I think dodgeball is a game where kids are easily picked on since it’s easy to target a person, while considering as part of the game. Here athletic students might find a game to enjoy, but if you widen the spectrum, most kids don’t like gym. Therefore, they would not like this game for it’s lack of passing, so they could have a chance of getting the ball. This would result in many kids, not exercising, not wanting to participate and lack of effort. All of these negative effects downplay the real meaning to gym, to enjoy sports in a healthy way. Gym no longer becomes gym, but to black hole of school sucking them into the world of Gym. In conclusion, I will not let the definition of gym to be reduced to a place where fun comes to an end, but a place where kids can enjoy sports, by not playing dodgeball.
Dodgeball is an incredibly fun, exciting, and important physical education game that deserves to be played as part of the physical education curriculum. First of all, dodgeball helps work out your speed and agility as you are dodging balls being hurled at you. The aspect of trying to stay in the game by not getting hit adds to the motivation you get to try your best, giving you the best possible workout for this game. You can also get practice in throwing and catching as that is also what the game is about. It also provides fun competition that makes the game fun and interesting.
my school allowed it. it was fun.
I always hated dodgeball in PE
