I wouldn't say it's impossible probability wise, it's impossible physics wise.
Earth could be flat but probability is too low it isn't possible to be flat
I'll leave those to you then.
If no one, anyone who wants to discuss climate change, evolution, or any science topic, I would be game for those.
I'm open to counter the points of any more flat-earthers.
I guess that was it
so even if it does seem logical that the earth is still because it feels like it's still and the jenga tower doesnt shake and fall...
but once you realize inertia is a thing and a smooth car or train ride can feel like you arent moving but you certainly feel it stop, a moving earth starts to be reasonable.
please, give some time to the counter arguments, and use a similar level of critical thinking for both sources
so I saw a but of the odd video... I cant see how this is convincing. it require alot of selective critical thinking.
have you tried giving time to counter arguments? and if the sun and the moon circle above our heads, how do you explain eclipses. if we are stationary, how do you explain retrograde motions of planets?
truth doesnt come from an isolated fact that sounds logical... it comes from the logical explanation that explains *ALL* the facts AT THE SAME TIME.
2+2=4 is a simple fact for children, but a simple fact is still a fact. if you disagree with that list, you have to actually refute it.
in particular, can you refute #s 3 and 8?
also, what is your view of the earth? the flat disk with a spotlight sun moving over it? wouldnt we still see the sun in the distance as it fades away instead of dropping beneath the horizon? what happens if a plane flies past the edge?
no, sadly that list is for adults. it's just so ridiculously easy to tell the earth is round that explanations sound like they are for children.
it's a bit like explaining that grass is green. it's hard to explain without sounding like you are talking down to them because anyone with eyes can see it.
that list is like for children.. we're all already knew those "FACTS" we've been indoctrinated since pre-school.. you have to open your mind. not everything you knew are true.
here's a list of really easy ways to know the Earth is round.
that's just "Cognitive Dissonance". You said we can see the curvature, yet these "scientists" like Neil Degrasse Tyson are saying that it's impossible for human being to be able to see the curve. Listen, there's this video on youtube showing a balloon footage of the earth from 120,000 ft high.. no curvature at all. Horizon means Horizontal, mate.
That's like saying you need to do research to prove Harry Potter isn't real. you really don't. it is very, very well established that the Earth is round. huge amounts of stuff we experience every day wouldn't be possible if it weren't. I mean, if you go into a plane or a high enough building you can see the curvature of the earth for yourself.
I know it sounds ridiculous.. but, you need to do a research about it first so you can see/understand the idea. Watch "21 Questions" by ODD Reality on YouTube
I really can't believe anyone thinks this. it is hilarious.
