ueah! I'm all for technology! I'm a gamer myself! I love it! but like you said there are definite risks! but I wasn't actually just taking about technology! I meant everything g
I think that this is true for reasons that we all have logically stated. I love technology and think that if we way the risks it is probably more positive overall. Therefore let's keep doing it!
Why does this debate remind me of a Ray Bradbury novel?
like where did I say let's eradicate games????
I made this debate not because it was something I necessarily agreed with but because it came up on something I was watching on tv and I thought it was interesting. so don't worry tania I'm not trying to eradicate technology you can calm down!
I just thought it was interesting as everything we've invented to as you say "make life easier" either is or could be dangerous,
cars, electricity, heating, drugs, chemicals, certain materials, games, tv, even sport. I wasn't however, saying that all these things should be banned!
on the other hand I do believe that almost everything we have created can have a negative effect for the planet, but then this is the same for anything, in the wrong proportion is bad.
Those people are handful. Society will not buy into this for they are already to dependent on technology simply because it's better and makes life much easier. I see that those are not the only games available. they are much more educational games that benefits one. So what solution has been put on the table in exchange for technology. You can not say Oh technology is dangerous let's erridicate when you yourself have no solutions on the table. What are the long time benefits
indeed everything in general is dangerous. So we can not run away from things because they cause a physical or mental harm to people
Everything in life is dangerous. so does that mean society can not develop because everything is dangerous. so basically what you saying is no technology should not be created because it is a harm to society. Technology is there to improve the lives of people and as well as for luxury. Nature itself is dangerous so does that mean we have to live in constant fear of everything that surrounds us
addiction to games have lead to deaths! one guy sat and played diablo for 16 hours stright, he'd died of a heart attack caused by dvt, another guy played call of duty solidly for 4 days, died of dehydration!
Let us not forget drug addictions.
All I have to prove is that (from the wording of the question) one time that man made things (all) have been dangerous. Everything is dangerous and there will always be an instance of it.
Good point, but addiction to coffee can lead to death. Addiction to games leads to anxiety and anti-social behavior. People even become overweight and irritable. Shut themselves off from the word. Addiction can be very dangerous.
Are we sure that addiction is always harmful? I an not. Addictions to unhealthy things may be, but an addiction to coffee can actually allegedly help prevent heart disease and diabetes.
Everything has risks.
True, but addiction is very harmful. Therefore proving my point. Really everything is dangerous so any man-made thing would be dangerous as well.
Maybe that addiction is keeping then from a life of crime!
For all those that become addicted to it. there is an arguement for it.
Is Flappy Bird really dangerous?
Isn't everything dangerous? In general I mean.
