While it is definitely a good movie, there are better ones. Depending on what you are looking for in a movie, the Matrix was awesome (as long as you stop after the first one). Shawshank Redemption and Silence of the Lambs are fantastic if you want more plot and less action.

It was great but there are also great movies produced in that time. To name a few: Silence of the Lambs, Forest Gump, Leon the Professional, Top Gun and The Princess Bride.
