Oh, and Nemiroff, I don't play it, but I played TF2 back in the day, and it seems to have similar appeal. It appeals to social gamers competitive gamers, abnegation gamers, and trolls. Extroverts get a lot of entertainment from hanging out with people in MOs, competitive types enjoy strategizing against other gamers instead of the usual AI or straightforward skill challenge, abnegation gamers enjoy zoning out in absence of a more serious, stressful commitment to finishing a long game with several far out objectives, and trolls like the social aspect because they enjoy the low consequence (for them,) high reward, (again, for them,) griefing environment.
Not a fan of the last one, but the, rest are legitimate. I think discovery type play is rewarded in this one for a time, too, on account of the large map? Can't recall.
But yeah, lots of gaming styles are appealed to, so that's the draw. c: No story for narrative types, though.
It's a popular game, just like TF2 and WoW once were. And its arguably less dysfunctional than WoW. Let people have their pastimes.
"Taking over a lot of kids and adults." Yeah, just like soccer, football, and oh, just like eating and breathing.
How much can you make in one night playing it?
considering all clips of fortnite I saw was a dumbed down version of overwatch/battleborn (or a cartoony CS), I'm guessing it's become a phenomena because of its pricetag... free
maybe I'm wrong, I've never played the game, who knows, maybe yall will sell me on it. but atm I do not understand the phenomena that it undoubtedly has become.
