the gender norms, that are really strictly in this country in, are at the heart of many of our social issues.
That is an underlying cause of chivalry and I for one am all for women initiating relationships and sexual activity, though I understand it's stigmatized in our society.
i think the real concern is the continued double standard where society is increadingly expecting equal pay, but some aspects of chivalry remain. particularly during dating.
it is traditionally frowned upon for a woman to pursue a man, so they end up the one being chased. once society allows women to be as open sexually as men are, this problem will vanish. however that idea doesnt always sit well with some men, thus the solution to their problem isnt satisfactory. chivalry was a system of control, not kindness.
Yes lots of men do come to nightclubs for the women, however men also come to meet other men at nightclubs. Now of course there are gay bars for that, but how is it fair for nightclubs to deny a goodtime to some gay men?
Another point is this. Women are not usually there for themselves either. Lots of women go to nightclubs to meet men, in this case to get free drinks and sex.
i dont think they deny men entry, but men are mostly there for the girls. few guys say "yo, tonight, lets just go dance!"
getting the girls in for free brings in the guys!
