I find it funny that, with 2 other people saying that they make arguments when they vote, I am the first to leave a comment.
I leave comments and arguments because I want to explain why I voted the way I did. Often this leads to discussion with people who disagree, at which point I learn something (either facts or at the very least a better understanding of why people might have a different opinion). If I just vote it is generally because someone else has already made the arguments I would, so there is no need to weigh in and repeat them.
