at age 21 we already have enough death from drunk driving and alcohol poisoning
And do you really think young curious and adventurous kids are gonna be satisfied with a little bit of wine? Nahh. Introducing it earlier won't do much, just look at the culture among young Russian males.
kids don't have unlimited access, even if its pretty damn close. their access is limited by who they know, who can get it for them. You're just broadening the pool of underage bingedrinkers by lowering the age. Thats how it is
That is why parents should let kids have small amounts of wine at younger ages. Then kids won't sneak out and break the law.
I don't know where you live but they generally already do. it isn't hard to get someone, somewhere to buy booze. if you look at European countries they don't have as much of s problem with teen binge drinking. they are introduced to it relatively early and it isn't a big deal. which means they don't have to sneak off and drink till they throw up. the problem is the western culture founded on puritan values.
Coke and rum. Coconut rum and milk. Gatorade and vodka. We get drunk before playing high school football. Kids are wild bru, u make 18 the drinking age, u just have a bunch of high school seniors with unlimited access to beer and liquor..
okay, when I was a teenager my friends and I would rather have soda, I didn't like the taste of wine then, most teens think soda tastes better, but have alcholic drinks because it is illegal breaking rules I'd fun, and they want to see who can do it. Most teens do not like the taste of alcholic drinks as much as soda. If soda w as ilkegal, and alchol was legal, what would teens have?
You just said teenagers would rather have soda.
I'm saying what the law says is legal. do teenagers drink anyway? of course. I was once a teenager so I know what they are like. (and not very long ago)
You don't know what teenagers are like do you?
just want to get this point across, kids are allowed to drink in their homes under supervision of their parents, and have their parents aproval. if a child drinks without supervision that is wrong, or if a parent let's a child get drunk that can lead to removal of the child from the parents. Even though the drinking age is 21 a 15 year old can drink with parents permission. Most teens and kids would rather drink soda anyway.
here in las vegas the legal drinking age is 15
if we lower the drinking age there us the possibility of more drunk drivers considering you can be a licensed driver at 16 or would it help push the idea of having a dd? there are pros and cons to every argument but you need to think of how kids are being brought up in this time era. it's all about the upbringing and their ability to make the right choices under the influence
not legally, just because people do it does not make it legal.
Yeah because nobody drinks when they're 18.
the brain does not teach it's peak until you are about 22 years old. the drinking law is to protect it. it's not being an adult that you drink, it's bring 21. saying I'm an adult so I can drink is not good logic.
the drinking law says 21, not adult.
At 18 years of age you are considered an adult right? Adults are allowed to drink.
Are we talking about brain development reasons or "They can choose to die in war they should be able to drink"?
