I don't see any way getting rid of sports and fashion celebrities would heal the world. People have been fighting was long before fashion celebrities, and sports used to be gladiators fighting to the death. How would getting rid of modern pop culture icons stop the war in the middle east, or improve US-Russia relations, or solve world hunger? Blaming celebrities is convenient, but it is also just finding a convenient scapegoat, which doesn't solve anything.
