It has been a day. I'm just curious if you have had a chance to look at the evidence. I know real life tales precedence, so if you haven't, I do understand.

the guy shot in a hallway while leaving his house. the kid shot for playing with a toy gun. the guy killed for selling loose cigarettes. numerous traffic stops turn deadly.

who attacked a police officer?
if you attack a police officer, most likely you should be shot... but that's not what anyone is talking about.

What about the people not committing crimes who are killed? What about people being strangled to death for selling cigarettes?

How about instead of claiming they are a black supremacy movement you acknowledge that they are, by your own statistics, more likely to be killed by police and we work together to fix the systemic issues causing it?

So if you don't do crime you wont get shot at by police, if you attack a police officer? what else do you expect to happen?

Great statistics, but you left out some key information, probably because it's inconvenient to your position.

Black people make up only about 12% of the population, but as you said account for 32% of those killed by police. White people account for more than 60% and make up 42% of those killed by police. That means, as I said, black people are disproportionately killed by police.

The median income for white people was around $57k in 2012. For black people it was around $33k. This means black people are disproportionately poor. Could that factor into them having more run ins with the police?

As to you statistic of how likely police are if being killed by black people vs white, soldiers are more likely to be killed by those they ate fighting than those they are not. If lack people are being disproportionately arrested, assaulted and killed, there would also be an increased likelihood of people fighting back.

I in no way condone killing police since they are nearly all doing their best to keep everyone safe, but if you arrest more black people, the odds of a confrontation with a black person goes up. That doesn't justify either side killing the other.

But thank you for demonstrating the type of person who attacks feminism quite nicely, as well as how they justify it.

so you believe in the existence of a rape culture? because it seems to me that rapists get locked away in prison rather than being promoted... so therefore it isnt a culture. I am in support of 1st and 2nd wave feminism but not 3rd wave, 3rd wave feminism has become a mean, vindictive, spiteful, man hating philosophy that everyone is so quick to support. more than two thirds of Britons support gender equality ? but just seven per cent would call themselves feminists which proves that these people know what feminism has become. if they cared about gender equality they would look at the problems both genders face as opposed to only looking at one gender. Is it equality when i have to ask a woman permission to greet her but she does not have to do the same? is it equality to say all men are rapists? the left are very hypocritical.

ok lets look at the statistics... approximately 5,500 out of the 6,095 black victims murdered in 2014 were killed by other black people, why isn't BLM talking about that?when it comes to fatalities caused by police in the United States in recent years, about 42% were white, 20% were Hispanic, and 32% were black?even as blacks committed nearly 39% of the types of serious crimes most likely to result in a violent confrontation with police, where is BLM when there are statistics like these? 2015 was typical: 494 whites and 258 blacks were killed by police. the likelihood of a police officer being killed by a black male is 18.5 times greater than the likelihood of an unarmed black male being killed by a cop? Nope. Facts Don't ? well, you know how it goes.

Feminists take flack for being pro-women, so your argument that since they fight for equality falls apart. Many of the same people who criticize BLM do the same for feminism.

The reason it is black lives matter, not all lives matter, is because it is black lives that are being disproportionately ended. All lives do matter, their chant and name come from an attempt to convince the police that black lives matter too. The argument that they should be called all lives matter would also apply to historic fights for equality. All bus riders matter, so Rosa Parks should have moved to the back of the bus.

I understand your perspective, but they aren't saying only black lives matter. The name is a response to people acting like black lives DON'T matter. Making it all lives matter dilutes the message since it is disproportionately black lives being treated as though they don't matter.

2 years, 7 months ago

Instead of being pro blacks, if they were based on ' All lives matter' , Everybody would have supported them. Poor Whites in US too suffer. Its only the rich and previledged people who dont suffer. I wouldnt call them racist either. They just dont know the similar fates of poor whites. If they knew, BLM would get more support. Look at feminists, equal rights for both men and women.

Also, your topic is very poorly constructed. You voice both sides, making voting pointless.

It's so nice of you to label the entire group by the minority. By that token, Republicans are white supremacists, Democrats are communist, ranchers are domestic terrorists and high school students are mass murderers. All of these have happened, none for them represent their demographic.

As to the specific chant you reference, yes, it was chanted. However you are misrepresenting the movement. Those who chanted it have been disavowed by the organizers of the event it happened at in 2014. The BLM movement itself has been peaceful and has condemned violence. Judging them by the most extreme supporters is no more fair than judging Republicans by the KKK endorsing their candidate.

I am going to open up with this straight away, Black Lives Matter are lying racists, they preach Anti-Racism but a lot of tweets from supportes of BLM call for the death of Police and White people. BLM are violent and militant, if they really cared about the black community why don't they fight for better living conditions for the community, better education and better opportunities? it is because they are power hungry, they don't care about Black Lives, they care about power, they breed hate and they chant "what do we want? DEAD COPS! when do we want it? NOW!".
