Same here... I only favour it to a degree... There are many flaws in this kind of punishment....

I was pointing out a flaw. ur public shaming would turn into murder and he could of been innocent

also what if said dead guy was innocent. look up the red scare in America if u don't know what it is and that is what u will eventually get. I think we should show displeasure on anyone who breaks a law.

What I am trying to say is when you give someone this kind of punishment. It is difficult to control the agitation of the public.. Public never care for higher or lower level. What If someone deserves life imprisonment and he is forced to remove his clothes and then beaten till he dies....it may not prove to be as fair and practical as well... And then sometimes people may divide in such a case leading to riots...also people may not know the real situation of the crime as well.... I m not against this form of punishment and it can prove to be very fruitful at times but I m trying to show you the shortcomings and it is a bit impractical

I had written that higher level criminals should be given public shame not low level criminals

But considering the number of criminals... It might not be possible to publicly harass them.... And sometimes people may take advantage of this kind of punishment.... By doing something not needed like removing the clothes of the person... Also there is nothing like some fixed amount how much punishment should be given in this form... Sometimes the person may even die for a small theft coz of the anger of the people....

Public punishment is a better idea, but it should be practiced in harsher way and more often to make it a better deterrent to crime and should be used on higher level criminals instead of just a silly punishment for children and low level criminals.

Depends on the crime
