This question is poorly phrased. it is possible for it to happen at any second. the better question is whether or not it is likely. 50 years is a long time so no one can say, but I doubt it. The realities of the nuclear age make a world war impossible. The world powers will continue in an economic struggle and fight through proxies, as they have been doing for 70 years. If they ever fought directly the whole world would die, and they all know it.
