hey ur comments back and I can't delete it. what was all that?
It got lost, I reposted it. Can you still delete it?
that's an isolated line without context.
it refers to a battle when the Muslims were being attacked and outnumbered by pagans. the enemy came to kill them. they defend themselves.
only an idiot would turn the other cheek when an army is coming to kill your entire family.
Picking one verse from the middle of a book can't give the true meaning.
Here are 3 verses from Quran, these are the first verses about going war and explains how it should be in a nutshell.
Surah Al-Bakarah (2)
"Fight in the way of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress. Indeed. Allah does not like transgressors."
Q: Fight with who? Random non-muslims? A: Fight in the way of Allah who fight you but do not transgress.
"And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al- Haram until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers."
This is an order to fight people who expelled you from your homeland, this is not an order to kill random non-muslim people. Wouldn't anybody fight against people who invade their homeland?
"And if they cease, then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."
If they quit fighting, you quit fighting too. Isn't this a peaceful approach?
I did not delete the comment. did someone else or did the original debater delete it or did the administrator?
why do I have the option to delete ur comment?
Unlike what some people think, Islam doesn't consistently preach peace, and several parts of its Holy text command things such as execution of non-muslims.
Quran (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them"
Therefore, regardless of its follower's actions, or any other religion, the belief system ITSELF is violent.
Clear enough for you?
Does Islam preach peace?
just because you didn't say something explicitly doesn't mean we can't read between the lines.
if someone says yes then you can attack their answer by holding Islam to some ideal standard few ideologies can live up to.
if someone says no, the opposite is implied (violence). your yes or no question leaves no room for a middle answer, so if implied violence was not your intention... you should really work on your phrasing.
yes, islam is a religion of violence. first major religion to allow women to own property (christianity didnt) with a prophet that condemned the tribal tradition of burying daughters alive and so on. how evil.
The debate wasn't about Christianity.
The debate statement also doesn't say "Muslims are violent people".
any religion can be twisted into war. including Christianity.
why is it so hard to judge people based on their personal actions as individuals?
