Loneliness is dangerous, if left untreated. There are options available. There are support groups for people who are lonely and depressed. There is a suicide hotline. There are psychiatrists who can prescribe treatment for depression. Therapy can help people determine the underlying cause of their loneliness. Some people do not know how to reach out for help, and they are at highest risk for suicide.
Feeling lonely is a terrible feeling and it can be dangerous. Lonely people feel that they have no friends or people to talk to. It can be dangerous when these people cannot stand their loneliness anymore. There might be a decrease in their productivity because they feel that their life is boring. They might also do something that we never expect like committing suicide.
