stop illegally crossing into Canada first, later think about mexicans........
not even including interracial interaction and our rationality.
I agree. making it alot easier to immigrate legally makes the whole system safer.
but cracking down on illegal immigrants in the mean time is only hurting everyone. it hurts the immigrants, obviously. but that uncertainty and fear hurts America and it's economy.
legal is fine with me. illegal becomes complicated. we don't know who they are or if they might be sick(unlikely since how they get in is sucky but who knows) and some(not a lot) could be criminals. I think tourism and making it easier for the good guys to get in will definitely boost our economy.
the Republican party, but especially trump, like to use illegal immigrants as some sort of boogy man to scare people. illegal immigrants commit less crimes per capita than American citizens. but trump wants you to believe that they are drug dealing rapists.
the idea is that if you are afraid of them then you will vote for the party pointing at them being a problem. and it works. look at the support that giant waste of money trump calls a wall got from Republicans.
give people something to fear and a simplistic answer for solving it is a proven political strategy. that's why they can never publicly accept than Mexican imigration is a huge boost to the American economy.
scrap goat for what? we realize there are problems. we just don't agree on the solution and don't even try to. mostly because they want to keep there jobs.
but if the Republicans admitted that Mexican immigrants were a good thing they would lose their scape goat.
we definitely need it fix it fast. the longer we wait the more problems we will see.
that's the only argument left against the immigrants: ideology.
I believe ideology is secondary to reality. and I don't believe in shooting myself in the foot or hurting the nation over ideology.
besides, I'm assuming I'm going to hear the line cutter argument... do you think the legal migrants who waited on line are jealous of the line cutters working for subwages and living in the underground economy? would they trade places? I doubt it. there were many benefits to coming legally, benefits that should be withheld from the line cutters (for cutting the line, perhaps citizenship) but they should not have to live in fear.
they should come in legally. and we should make legal immigration possible. but people with limited life spans and hungry families can't wait forever for our politics to shift and they didn't do anything wrong morally by taking the chance and making a life.
if they wanted sure. but not all want to come. also they should come through legally while we fix it.
who cares about mexico. I know maybe they should, but I dont. instead I want them to come here and make this nation greatER.
they don't take our jobs. they actually create more demand and thus jobs. their crime rates are lower than the native population. there is only benefits.
well is there anything to do about that? I would say have a talk with them but that suggestion usually gets the police/bully debate and since that isn't what this is about I would rather keep moving forward.
mexico is developing. its HDI is increasing. Its 75. to be a developed country, you need to have 80. Mexican economy is growing. Its the hub of car industries like hyundai and ford to sell their products to rest of the world. Sooner or Later its going to become a developed country. But first, they have to win the drug war.
There are many reasons for why Mexico is poor. Lets start off with the landscape. America is a much larger piece of land with a diverse set of landscapes. It has rocky mountains, it has desert, it has greenery, it has virtually everything. This means that there various ways to cultivate and reap resources from the land. They can grow almost everything and they have plenty of fossil fuels. Mexico is just desert. Any resources such as gold etc that came from South America were all melted and shipped off to spain so then when Mexico got independence, it had jack shit left for itself.
Then theres population. Mexico when settled already had a way higher population in a much smaller land than America, which had a much smaller population in a much larger chunk of land. So Mexico had more people, less land and less resources than America so obviously it would have a harder time developing. And like i said, resources were shipped to Spain.
That was the past. Today, Mexico's development is hindered by corruption and government policies which favour thise who are already wealthy as opposed to those who are not. As expected from such policies, poor people tend to stay poor and rich people tend to get richer.
which is why I want to know why their doing so badly and why Mexico ain't doing anything to change it. they have had the time to
Papa grandé, méjico debería desarollar también
not everyone is hypernationalistic like that. some just want to feed their families and survive.
