I would call previous generations soft for being to weak to stand up to bullying and do something about it.

putting up with bullying isnt strong, its stupid.

That's a bit like saying we have become soft and are less tolerant of being hacked to death by swords. Of course we don't tolerate that. We want that to stop. Why would anyone, anywhere not want bullying to stop?

Many studies have shown that bullying has many long term damaging effects to people. It is something we should strive to put a stop to. That has nothing to do with being "soft", whatever that means. It has to do with building a better society and stronger people who don't suffer a lifetime of side effects of having been bullied.
