Totally. Like any other 90s grunge band, they would have hung on by attracting ever-smaller crowds of people whose identity is still wrapped up in that bygone era. But it was good for music. Dave Grohl went on to do awesome stuff with the Foo Fighters and QOTSA, and various other side projects.
the music they made will always be good no matter where it went afterwards and Kurt was a song writing genius I doubt he could have ruined the band if he had gotten his shit together and stayed alive
