It's your body and your life, no one should be able to make a decision for you, they have their own lifes to worry about and to make decisions for themselves. It's absurd to come into this world with free will and liberty and just because someone else's one of many thoughts says they should control you for you to actually let it happen.
There's a difference between tell and control. If somebody tells you about something , doesn't mean they take control of that thing. Dictionary also suggests that a word tell could be in term of an advice or a suggestion. So what people told you will affect your thought but it is yourself to decided whether to believe it or not , to do it or not.
Affect could be bad, yes. But in many possible way, it could be good and helpful too.
For example people may say you should eat more because you look not healthy as you should be. You should excercise or eat a little bit less so you are safe from a lot of disease.
So people should have a chance to told you what they see ; if it's good then keep it. If it's bad then throw it away
People should be able to tell and not control
Our body is ours and no one can have a control of it except us. I believe no one wants to be a person that his/her body is controlled by other people. We are the one responsible for our body. If someone lets others control his/her body, he/she is not a free human. In other words, he/she is just like a robot.
Your body and mind are the only things you have total control over. Nobody has the right to tell you what to think, feel or do with yourself. As long as you aren't hurting anyone, it's nobody's business.
