Even wars where religion is stated as the cause are usually fighting over land, resources, or something else. Religion is used to justify a lot of things, but there are usually more pragmatic explanations.
7 weeks war, Franco-prussian warning, both world wars, Napoleonic wars etc. These were all started because of non religious reasons.
