There needs to be more votes to see what the common perception is.
There is a tie in this debate, post your arguments, call some reinforcements and break this tie.

sorry if this is just a short reply, but republicans are all about big government too, they just lie to you libertarians to get your vote.
republicans are all about big government to control social freedoms like marriage, fund a massive military that invades others, and offer subsidizes to specific companies literally picking the winners and losers (much less free then industry wide sensible regulations).
I'm using the American standard for left v right just to be clear. Without using great detail.
Generally the left wants more government control (ex. single payer healthcare system, gun control, welfare) the policies they support also result in high taxes typically. They believe it's the governments job to help people.
The right is the polar opposite, they believe in small government. (private healthcare, uninfringed gun ownership, little welfare) the policies they support would typically give lower taxes. They believe the government shouldn't be in people's business.
what it boils down to is the left believe the government should be involved in the people and help the people while the right believes the government shouldn't be involved in the people's lifes and shouldn't dictate what they do. Of course this is to an extent, I'm not saying one is anarchy and the other is dictatorship.
That being said, I would say I'm rightwinged because I believe in small government. Also sorry if I have bad grammar on this, I wrote it up quickly.
the terms right and left wing don't actually mean anything. they are extremely broad terms that can encompass very different things. they also vary by country or even region.
for example the Conservative party of Canada would be considered almost left wing by America standards. the American hard right really has no equivalent here. they would probably be arrested for saying some of the things they say.
