the problems with bestiality and pedophilia i an inability to provide consent. necrophilia is disrespectful in the majority of beliefs. so it isn't the sexuality that is immoral there, but the violation of another's rights.
I can understand exactly what you mean and agree but I can also see extremes like pedophilia, bestiality, and necrophilia are morally ambiguous.
could be. I think it depends on the person's own morals. and yes they would be with the shamers. as a while we have treated this horribly.
is the problem with sexuality if the only negative effect comes from social stigma? especially considering many proponents of basic human rights of the past, like those opposing slavery or allowing one to love someone of a different appearance faced similarly painful stigma in the past.
perhaps the sin is with shamers (or at least both as they will end up burning together with those they shamed)
Yes I agree with that.
not directly but it certainly can lead to it.
Suicide effects well-being. Sexuality does not.
sucidal usually effects people's well being. wether self hate or outside forces.
Right but it doesn't effect the well-being of the person themselves. It brings hate that is unnecessary since and its still an unconscious decision and yes both things have to be fulfilled.
you say it has to do two things. that implies it needs to do both unless I'm misunderstanding it. now the effect is obvious. especially with families that don't approve. there are plenty of stories about how people change wether it be the one with the rejected homosexuality or the family where members become sucidal or become angry or drinks or other such behaviors sadly.
ahh I understand. I was incorrectly interpreting your argument.
Exactly yet some people still say homosexuality and others like it are immoral or moral. Yet it is amoral. That is the point I'm trying to make.
that's like saying hunger is immoral because it isn't conscious. or being tired, or being happy. or the large majority of what makes us who we are.
Even if you believe that to be true, and I don't, it still is amoral since its not a concious decision.
your sexuality does effect the well-being of those around you and yourself.
I didn't say sex is amoral. I said sexuality is amoral.
there are many studies proving that sex is actually very good for your overall health. the urge to have sex may be unconscious, but deciding to have sex is a conscious choice.
so neither of your points is valid.
By understanding that to be within the moral sphere something has to do two things. 1) Be a concious decision. and 2) to effect the well-being of something. Sexuality is an unconscious decision and does not effect ones well-being when acted upon.
and you decided this how?
