I feel it is detrimental to parties to make broad statements instead of recognizing individual failings. Some are economic conservatives and social democrats. I don't understand what the Democratic history has to do with it considering the Republican Party and Democratic party switched ideals when people like FDR, and Reagan came into the presidency.
