by being active they should be more informed

being politically informed is more important than being politically active. everyone should know abouts what's going on with the goverment, elections... ect.

It depends on how they are active and how well informed they are. People becoming violent at rallys are being politically active, but I would hardly say that's a good thing. People attacking and belittling others over political differences of opinion are also active, and that is also negative. Both sides have fanatics who are politically active but woefully uneducated.

As the same time there are many more people becoming active due to the sensational style of this election.

Short answer, everyone should be politically active, but everyone should also be informed.

but does this mean that more people *should* be politically active? in todays situtation, not in theory

Fair enough. Without political interest, there is often no drive to become educated unless an issue directly impacts someone.

often times people get politically active out of duty before they begin to learn the ins and outs.

that is why I agree with encouraging activity of everyone.

Being blindly politically active, like voting by party, is harmful to the state since you are not electing someone who represents you, you have picked a team to cheer for no matter what they say or do.

Being informed and politically active is what lets society elect those who speak for the people.

people should instead be educated than be politically active.
