While I do feel that 21 is excessively high for a legal drinking age (assuming USA, if not please let me know) I do think that 14 is a bit young for him to start experimenting with alcohol. At that age it is already hard for kids to make decisions based on consequences and that is why they depend on their parents to set limits.

let your son have fun. as long as no serious drugs are involved. if he wants to go , hes bound to do it with or without your permission. hes a teenager for chrisrs sake. remember when you were one? dont let him be the mock of the school.or his clique because you wouldnt allow him to go out one night. im not saying let him do it all the time, but let him have some fun tonight, warn him of drunk drivinf and other precatuions, but dont be a n over strict parent, kids become worse ofd when thier parents are super strict, i know this based off real events
