Smoking in my country is legal everywhere instead of inside educational institutions! But over here tobacco companies cannot be banned because government extracts billion of taxes from them.
yeah smoking in public places is illegal here too!
I don't know about where you live, but smoking is already illegal in most public places here. bars, restaurants, all government buildings etc. it's also illegal to smoke in your car with children in it.
We can start just by making smoking illegal in public places it will reduce the number of growing teenager from becoming addicted. also by fining people smoking in public can help financing the economy
heroine addicts chose to use heroine. that doesn't mean we should allow them to use it or approve of their choice.
though only reason smoking is allowed is because of money and jobs take away smoking and you'll take away jobs from family's and I'm not saying u should approve if it but the people that r smoking choose that path
historybuff is right, if smoking was banned you could potentially save millions of lives. I'm not exactly saying force them not to smoke, but gradually over hears smoking could become something illegal.
I suppose I'm biased because my mum smokes and my grandad died from lung cancer due to smoking. but it doesn't matter thers no denying that lives could be saved if smoking was illegal
it isn't the same thing at. abortions aren't killing them and those around them. they aren't addicted to abortions. there aren't corporations making billions off selling an addiction. comparing the two doesn't make sense.
Why is it OK to tell someone they can't smoke? People can do to their bodies as they see fit. Same type of argument can be said on abortion; people say that a woman can do what she wants to do with her body, ok so if that's the case then why is it OK for people to force the idea to stop smoking on smokers. Just kinda sounds hypocritical to me
I would like this to be the case but it never will be. perhaps the government should introduce compulsory and free sessions for smokers who can't leave until they are no longer addicted. then once every one is unhooked make it illegal.
but like I said it'll never happen, cigarettes make too much money. A better idea I think would be to make two options of cigarettes, one which contains and the shit and one that is just nicotine, no tar, no carbon monoxide. it's already been proved they can take this stuff out. the cigarettes still contain nicotine so are still addictive so people will still buy them so companies will still make money, but they will be less harmful. The NHS won't have to spend millions of pounds on smoking related illnesses.
