*I meant "there are few games". As in i find pretty much all of them boring.
I used to have a roommate who loved watching baseball. i tried a couple of times to watch it with him but it was just sooo boring. But that being said there a few games that I don't find boring to watch. I also find soccer really boring too.
baseball is popular in alot of countries.... but its nowhere near the popularity of soccer world wide.
and imo, baseball is incredibly boring and has the most out of shape athletes since golf.
Also I think baseball is bigger in Japan and South Korea than any other organized sport.
In Mexico baseball is bigger than soccer up north and along the coast than in the south and center.
Also I have found that other countries have sports that are more important than soccer. Cubans I meet say baseball is bigger than soccer in Cuba.
Well perhaps the rest of the world would if they had football, baseball and basketball.
what you say about the way americans see it is true, but not clearly most of the world disagrees.
Well each there own. But I still think most Americans see it as too slow and boring.
it may be different at professional skill levels. Brazil showed how footwork is key no matter the field size. backyard soccer is fun no matter the size, but i was talking mostly about professional soccer.
i find it more fun to watch soccer then basketball, despite its shorter court and more scoring. i like watching the strategy, not just points going back and forth.
If they shortened the field there would be more scores. I live in Mexico City and we play street and indoor soccer which is more fun and moves quicker and is about foot skill.
i agree in the sense that sports are all way more boring to watch then to play. baseball barely moves. football constantly resets. golf isnt a sport. they are all fun to actually play tho.
why a short field? sounds like you need to work on cardio. if its a short field the goalies can just play catch with each other, thats not fun.
When I say boring, I mean as far as watching it. Playing it is fun as long as the field is short.
Because soccer is boring.
our country's popularrity is built on what sports are for Father's loved and enjoyed . I don't believe that will change in my life time. I love baseball the most and many other sports above soccer. that said hats off to all that love soccer. I definitely don't hate the
You and I have something in common, and thats our ancestry. Having said that, I've lived here most my life and I tell you that America does watch the world cup. Not sure if America will this year given the US was DQ, but the watching of the world cup will have no effect on the following years over the popularity of the sport around the country. They've tried everything, the MLS has had the likes of Pele, Maradona, Valderrama, JP Angel, Batistuta, Bekham, Henry among many other great ones play in the league. And it did nothing. College soccer is not televised like basketball or baseball. I think you bring a solid point, until the US team can do great things in soccer and be viewed as heroes like you said, soccer will not be popular in the US.
first of all im not an american I'm colombian. So this answer is from a Colombian perspective.
NO. Soccer will never be popular in the US. Reasons--
Their High school students are more engaged in baseball and football activities. many school teens dont have a interest to learn about soccer since baseball and football are what they have been watching and playing since their middle school years.
If you look at the US soccer team, Its not well trained as a result they could hardly continue after group matches in FIFA world cup 2014. While the US basketball and baseball teams are champions. The media views them as 'heroes' indeed they are.
Basketball and Baseball players earn more fame and respect as compared to Soccer players which is why young people dont want to take up soccer as career in US nor people wanna view its matches.
To make soccer popular in the US, Make sure your friends watch the FIFA 2018. It would develop your interest in soccer.
Btw, I was a soccer player for my school when i was 17. Now im 20.
