I blame social media for many things unrelated to this. like claiming ownership over all our posts and pictures. I don't blame them for the fake news, it is freedom of speech.

I do believe we can ask them to take responsibility and go out of their way to inform users who frequent fake sources that they should, as you said, double check and question the information they read. after all, these arent amateurs doing it for free, but companies making good money from these services.

also, much of the fake news comes not from people but from accounts that do nothing but pump out misinformation. likely a room full of people paid to make and spread these as a job. I don't think that is what facebook was made for.

I totally agree with you sir .... a very accurate point I must say but Sir if people don't do what is meant to be done then can we blame social media for that ?? because of people's fault should we blame that particular platform which brings us closer and help us unite

just because you said cross check doesnt change the reality that people dont do it. and just because you said doubt doesnt mean people will doubt something they want to believe.

what you are saying is the good path, it is unfortunate that most people dont do any of that. one must acknowledge reality as it is, not as it should be.

then sir if they don't believe then why are these topics the talk of the Town ..... and also sir I said "cross check". which means that there is a "doubt" somewhere in the readers head and also sir where there is "doubt" there is "no believe"....

because many people arent cross checking the "news" and just believe the first thing they see that sound like something they already believe.

exactly sir but this is what people are doing taking it as a source of fake news that is why we are here to discuss these topics today ... to increase followers maybe ????

sir if we know that social media is spreading fake news then why don't we judge ourselves by cross checking the particular news with other channels or sites maybe because if it is a news which is of national or even of state concern then it will definitely be the talk of the town

no sir we can make a difference we can go to verified news channel search for it and get to know if the particular news is true or false I mean if we take it up and handle these situations in an efficient way then there will nothing as such rise in a social platform

no sir I don't think so because we are the one who are creating a nuisance by adding stupid posts on social media app and let the mass be affected by it through the social media ... mark my words sir through social media so social media acts as a platform as well as a source ..... and so so sorry sir for the report actually I wanted to tap the reply button and by mistake my finger moved to the report button really sorry

and while anyone can make an opinion rant like one of those youtubers, even some with high production, professional organizations can make it look like real news even if it's all nonsense. that's when the danger starts, when you cant tell the difference.

of course they have incentive to attract eyeballs so all caps and sensational titles give them away... if you're looking out for it that is. but that's old techniques, they'll adapt well enough in the future.

social media is for keeping in touch with friends and handing over your entire life to corporations. its not meant to be a source for news.

I think you have it backwards. social media is a platform so the source would be us and the spread would be social media....

however your assuming everyone on social media is an average joe and no companies/parties/countries can open an account under false pretenses to spread disinformation, which is super easy

yup because I think social media is the source of fake news but the origin and the one who spreads fake news is we I guess.... I mean if we act smartly to them then I don't think there would be anything like spreading and social unrest
