They have given a lot of evidence of research and fine details of study.I will suggest you to reread it.
Yes, this is the exact website I found earlier, the website that says you can "learn to play piano, lose weight, or hit a curve ball with little or no conscious effort"
It talks about studies there are no links to. I'm looking for studies that can be found in peer reviewed journals, where the methodology is explained. this website seems a lot like any homeopathy website. A lot of claims with no actual data to back it up.
OK, I m giving you reference.
and article is "Research studies on subliminal message on weight and perception "
well if it has the ability to cause people to lose or gain weight, then I would agree that it would be a drastic change in someone's life.
Unfortunately I'm unable to find any peer reviewed articles, or anything explaining the methodology of these studies by Patterson or Lloyd. So I can't confirm whether or not it's true that subliminal messaging works for weight loss or gain.
I'm open to the proposition that it does, I just can't find any evidence for it.
According to a research subliminal message can lead to weight loss. There are many research paper about this by Dr. Patterson. Even according to a research by Lydia Lloyd subliminal message can lead to weight gain. All this is coz it changes your diet subconsciously. Isn't it dramatic that a message that you are unaware of can motivate one to become slim or fat?
Psych, well that's not how interpreted the topic honestly, I was thinking "dramatic life change" as in being able to give people a new perspective on life or start writing books, not just reacting to subconscious stimuli.
At some point, subconscious stimuli does force our conscious mind to react, Much in the way the stimuli we're consciously aware of does. No smoking signs are shown to make people want to smoke because it puts the thought of smoking into smoker's heads.
I just think too much emphasis is being placed on this elusive barrier between the subconscious and the conscious brain, it's the same brain.
In 2009 there was a study that showed that people were able to unconsciously recognize emotional words even if they were shown too fast for them to consciously read them. One of the conclusions drawn by the researcher was that phrasing a sign as "Kill your speed" would be more effective than "slow down" even if the driver didn't have time to read it. Preventing someone from dying in an accident seems like a life changing event.
you're talking about James Vicary's "study in a cinema in 1957, the manager had said that there was no actual impact on sales and Vicary himself went on to admit that his own study was just "a gimmick."
we know that subliminal messaging works on people who already like the product in lab conditions, but that isn't really effective advertising is it?
I haven't seen any study that has given me reason to believe that it works at any effectual level, much less a life changing level, especially if you have to go all the way back to 1957 for a study.
Yes,subliminal message can change ones life dramatically either in positive or negative ways. Subliminal message are some very short frequency message in visual or auditory form that is missed by your conscious mind but your subconscious mind catch it. In 1957 at Fort lee( new jersey)there was a case of subliminal messaging in which while playing movie a message for 1/3000 the second was displayed frequently and message was "drink Coke cola" and "Eat popcorn".And due to this experiment consumption of Coke increased by 58% and popcorn by 18%. Later on outrageous citizen and congressmen result in banning of doing such act.
Moreover in most of advertisement we are
experiencing it in everyday life but we don't even know about it.
Our subconscious mind do affect our thoughts and behavior. This subliminal message can plant a belief without your awareness.
