Well obviously technology can't act on its own, it has an operator. I wanted to debate the fact that the technology we're using has so many benefits, but we're destroying instead of creating. Sorry for my obnoxiousness.

sorry. but your topic seems to be saying the exact opposite of your argument. you can see why I would be confused.

Are you having an issue? I told you what I meant at least three times now. I apologize for the confusion in the wording but come on. I literally spelled it out word for word for you.

then you aren't voting yes on your debate topic? because the topic is blaming technology and doesn't mention people at all.

true, I suppose. but it's like blaming a couch because someone sat on it and got fat. it's not the couch's fault they're lazy. blaming technology for human weaknesses is just not very accurate.

Geez you have a stick wedged tight up your butt today!

Anyway, I'm sorry for the confusion, but what are stating is exactly what I'm trying to say. The USES of technology have potential, but the USES of technology are ruining the Earth. Better?

3 years, 5 months ago

again, no. technology isn't ruining the world, we are. a stick is a stick. but if you stab someone with it it is a murder weapon. technology is a tool. humans are using it to destroy the world.

That's what I'm meaning. Technology has such potential and has given us access to so many advantages, it's endless. But the way numerous people have chosen to use it is ruining rather than benefiting the world. Not only does that damage necessities (such as pollution damages air, the rate at which trees are being cut down, the limited access to clean water, etc, as you mentioned) but it has turned us into a lazy and dependent people. (At least those who choose to use tech that way). Many people have to wear safety equipment just to leave their own homes and safely breathe the air outside because of pollution. The technology we created to advance us is is ruining the earth.

it stole our food? our water? our oxygen? those are the things we really need. and while pollution is damaging these things that isn't technology's doing. that is our greedy short-sighted use of technology.
