price: it is a bit more expensive than a new Toyota, but its comparable to a mercedes with the kick of a mustang. both of which are more expensive than a tesla. also according to all reports, they require nearly zero maintenance.
charge: most people charge it from home, but they seem to have a bunch of superchargers built up in Australia.
the EV market in Australia is only 0.5% in 2019, but tesla took 70% of it. according to an article in "the driven" jan 2020
What about price and availability of chargers? I don't see them taking off in Australia any time soon
who cares about oil?
better car, better performance, and autopilot has nothing to do with the engine...
yes but a little into the future. when oil runs out. about 2060
and that is why Tesla is worth more then gm and ford combined, despite them selling many many many more cars.
robotaxis is just a revolution that depends on self driving ability. once this works, tesla plans to stop selling cars cause their cars will be able to drive themselves out of the factory and start making money right away. owning a vehicle will become an unnecessary hassle.
full self driving is the key, and tesla is way ahead of anyone else as a leaked internal memo from Volkswagen admitted. while the competitors are trying self driving in limited tests, Tesla is getting massive amounts of self driving data from real world conditions from all of their many many cars out in the world.
but even all that aside, on a fundamental level, today. tesla makes an amazing car, and actually makes a profit for each car sold. unlike competing electric cars which are inferior in every way, and are sold at a loss. their technology lead is insurmountable up to at least 5-10 years.
