state of the art military tech is obviously not revealed, but that's a small portion

there is a 15 year delay from development to retail, but not because of some cabal but the regular market needs of scaling production, working out kinks, and making the technology cheap enough for regular people.

Good question, I don't know. Just made this discussion to see interesting points of views.

It is weird how there is a new Iphone every year, evolution of computers, etc. The tech exists, but is made more affordable and available to the public each year.

Inventions like LEDs, the internet, etc come from DARPA, a military development department. Makes you wonder what cool tech they have now that might (or not) be made readily available to the public in the future.
