i hate damn shit coups.
Regardless, hes going to create a theocracy to dominate the middle east
oh absolutely. the Turkish president has been trying to gain more power for some time now. I'm quite certain he is arresting anyone he doesn't like whether they're involved or not.
the coup may have been real however. it's hard to say yet.
And the brevity in which so much occurred doesnt seem reactive.
they are certainly taking advantage of it to go after their enemies.
I doubt it was a legitimate coup. They have already detained 9k officials. Hitler blamed the Communist party for burning the Reichstag, arrested them then took power for the Nazi party.
they said they were for democracy. that means absolutely nothing. dictators rarely say they are for violent repression. especially on the day the are seizing power.
we will never know if they would have been a good thing or a bad thing.
They said they we're for democracy. The current leader of Turkey was corrupt and got in place by a rigged system, and won't even allow people on twitter or YouTube. Something needed to change.
there's no telling what that military clique would have actually done. sometimes military leaders can do good things. but more than likely they would have just been a new military dictator. and that is bad for everyone.
120 people who attempted the coup were arrested.
where turkey?
