Death! By exile.
I think capital punishment should be handled by the victims. If the offender is found guilty and capable of getting capital punishment the victims should be allowed to vote weather or not to continue with capital punishment. That way the victims feel the justice system has worked through there endeavours. Granted victims don't have the experience of a judge, it's honestly a simple yes or no question of conclude with capital punishment or pursue life sentence(s).
and the process of making sure they aren't innocent is far more expensive than jailing for life.
I love people who just claim "rope is cheap" and stop thinking.
besides. life without parole just seems like a harsher punishment as well. death is comparitively easy.
You can't bring an innocent back from the dead.
