first off before going on to mankind start by thinking what can and can't be prevented...and that's ABSOLUTELY NOTHING mankind is forever changing and we are on it to change as well. WE OURSELVES are actually the "forever end" for no mankind could be advanced if not for human hand and mind but with human also killing off other human or nature killing human it kills mankind off faster so regardless of technology or electricity (might I add would only reverse our progress and put us back in the old days); They would not do anything to help stop, prevent, or cease the process of elimination of mankind or anything for that matter period..they would most likely help prolong us and make us suffer and wait when it happens.
I disagree with sickboyblonde about how unlikely we are to destroy ourselves with WMD or some other tech based weapon, but lack of tech would only avoid some of the ways the world could end, not all of them so at best we would be delaying the end, not preventing it.
what? if a massive, planet sized asteroid comes and hits Earth, I'm pretty sure the lack of technology wouldn't save us. If a plague hits and we have no medical technology, we are done. the only correlation between tech and the end of humankind is the unlikely threat of the use of WMD.
