It's true that a nerd may get a better job than the bully but the likely hood of him becoming the bullies boss is slim. The nerd and bully will most likely be heading to different fields of work.
Besides, the statement clearly states that the "guy" you make fun of in high school will be your boss later. From that information we can conclude that it doesn't have to be a "nerd". It could be someone who isn't that smart in class that is made fun of.
most people make fun of the nerd, the nerd pays more attention in class. the more he pays attention in class the better education he gets. the better education you have the better job you get. the better job HE gets, the more likely he'll end up your boss
